Indore is a food lover’s city with snacks and dishes that draw crowds all year. From the bustling Sarafa Bazaar to Chappan Dukan, these five dishes define the street food culture of Indore.
This morning combo is light poha topped with sev, pomegranate, and lemon, served with crispy hot jalebis. It’s the go-to breakfast across Indore.
A drier version than what’s found elsewhere. It’s made with soaked sabudana, peanuts, chilli, and lemon juice, garnished with sev for crunch.
These deep-fried potato patties have a sweet-spicy coconut filling. Served with tangy chutney, they’re a Chappan Dukan special.
A grated corn dish cooked with milk, spices, and hing. It’s savoury and slightly sweet, finished with a tempering of mustard seeds and green chillies.
Winter special made using deep-fried yam tossed in masala. Vendors sell it hot, spicy, and crisp in Sarafa Bazaar after sunset.
