Afghani chicken is a creamy, mildly spiced delicacy made with yoghurt, cream, and aromatic herbs. Soft, juicy, and smoky in flavour, it’s a Mughlai-style favourite perfect for festive dinners or weekend feasts.
500g chicken (bone-in or boneless) ½ cup hung curd ¼ cup fresh cream 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp black pepper powder 1 tsp roasted cumin powder ½ tsp garam masala 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp butter or oil Salt to taste
In a bowl, mix curd, cream, spices, lemon juice, and salt.
Add chicken pieces and marinate for 2-3 hours (or overnight).
Grill, bake, or pan-cook until golden and fully cooked.
Brush with butter for a smoky flavour.
Serve hot with mint chutney and naan.
