Matar paneer is among a few cottage cheese gravy recipes that can be prepared with onion and garlic and pair excellently with puri, rice, raita, or any other dry sabzi on the platter. Here is a recipe for you.

Ingredients

200 g paneer 2 tomatoes 1 cup peas, water Salt to taste 1 tbsp oil 1 green chilli 1-inch ginger ½ tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp turmeric, garam masala 1 tsp kasuri methi, coriander ½ tsp machur powder ½ tsp chilli powder 1 tbsp butter, coriander leaves

Step 1

Heat oil in a kadhai and saute paneer in it until it is brown. Take it out and dunk it in water.

Step 2

Melt butter in a pan and saute cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Turn tomatoes, chilli, and ginger into a paste.

Step 3

Add this paste to the kadhai and saute. Add powdered spices and cover with the lid.

Step 4

Add peas, water, and kasuri methi. Cook for 10 minutes, lower the flame, and add paneer cubes.

Step 5

Simmer for 10-12 minutes so that the peas are soft and the paneer has absorbed the flavour of the gravy.

Step 6

Garnish the gravy with coriander leaves and serve it.
