Jeera rice might not be a crowd-pleaser, but it sure brings the entire spread together. It is a rich cousin of steamed rice and goes well with almost all kinds of gravies. It has its charm that you cannot overlook. Try this recipe.
1 tsp cumin seeds 1 cup rice 1 tbsp ghee 1 cup water
Wash rice a couple of times and soak it for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee in a saucepan; once it melts, add cumin seeds.
Wait for the seeds to crackle before adding rice and water.
Cook the ingredients until the grains swell and are cooked to perfection.
Serve jeera rice with chhole, matar paneer, and other gravies.
