Coconut barfi is a simple and divine sweet offered as bhog to Maa Mahagauri on Ashtami. It combines coconut, sugar, and cardamom for a soft, fragrant dessert.
2 cups grated coconut (fresh or desiccated) 1 cup sugar ½ cup milk ½ tsp cardamom powder 1 tbsp ghee
Heat ghee in a pan and add grated coconut.
Mix in milk and sugar, then cook until it thickens.
Add cardamom powder and stir until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
Spread into a greased tray and flatten evenly.
Cool, cut into squares, and serve as bhog or festive sweet.
